ABDULLA LUTFI

Abdulla has an infectious passion for art, and while he enjoys painting and drawing images from his daily life, he is particularly drawn to buildings and vehicles. His interest in buildings, particularly from Dubai stems from his desire to showcase his city. He also has a keen interest in Japanese culture and has recently completed a series of Japanese-style works.

HE has a unique perspective on the world; his vision is honest, piercing and accurate; no detail escapes his eye. It is this quality that characterizes his detailed art pieces. His bold line drawings are spontaneous and amusing and infused with a sense of humor or irony.

His illustrations offer amazing observations of UAE culture and a fabulously simple narrative that enables the viewer to have an immediate insight into his world. His larger works are incredibly detailed and create a real journey for the eye as his black & white palette gives way to social interactions and environments we can all appreciate and relate to.

“My name is Abdulla Lutfi and I am an Emirati artist based in Dubai.

I have always drawn but it wasn’t until I started full time in art studios that I began to train really hard and to create my art to share with the world. I love being an artist, I love detail and working in black and white. I nearly always use humour in my work – I like to make people laugh & smile; the world can be a very funny place!

I am so happy to have exhibited across Dubai both as an independent artist and with The Mawaheb collective. My inspiration is everyday observation, and I hope you enjoy my vision of the world.”
