Charmaine Chanakira
Charmaine’s work explores the relationship between Jungian archetypes and the black, African - Zimbabwean experience. With influences as diverse as Katsushika Hokusai and Kojo Marfo,
her art is a synergy of the unconscious mind and the tumultuous rollercoaster of existence. Since starting her training as an art therapist, she has been fascinated with the theoretical limits of the universe.
Over the last few years she had the privilege to exhibit in prestigious galleries and shows including; Clarendon Fine Art, Zari gallery, Henarch Gallery, The Other Art fair and many more.
She had also won awards and have been nominated for artist of the year and Director's choice by Saatchi Art. In 2022 alone, she has been featured in distinguished magazines such as British Vogue and House and Garden magazine plus won artist of the year at Buckingham Lloyd.
