MOHAMMED MANDI

Mohammed Mandi, an internationally recognized calligrapher, is celebrated for his unique style that combines letters and words to create three-dimensional images and figures. His meticulous process involves overlaying the lettering with different shades and colors, resulting in compositions that transcend the two-dimensionality of script.

This transformative approach merges the textual and the visual, the literal and the symbolic, and the representational and the abstract, yielding breathtaking results. Mandi's passion for calligraphy began in childhood and led him to receive formal training at the Arabic Calligraphy Improvement School in Cairo.

He further honed his skills under the tutelage of renowned Turkish calligrapher, Hassan Chalabi. Mandi's talent has been showcased in various prestigious projects, including designing calligraphy for government ministries, private companies, and commercial establishments. His distinctive angular designs can be found on banknotes in the UAE and Bahrain, as well as on passports in multiple Gulf countries. Notably, Mandi contributed to the interior calligraphy of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Currently based in Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Mandi continues to create and inspire with his soulful artistry.
